Little Hunter

Bigbird had a great weekend of hunting! He hunted three mornings and managed to bag his limit of Canada Geese and some snows aswell as a few ducks. Check out "B" our little hunter!
He was so excited to see all the birds. He was honking and quacking and making crane noises. I wish I had a video of it!

Rainy Tuesday

I am just posting because it has been so long since I wrote anything. We have been really busy with family visiting and hunters/friends staying at our house. "Tis the season" - for hunters that is. It was a really fun past couple days and "B" really loved all the attention, but boy am I tired. I hope to be able to post some pics soon...but for now I think I better go take a nap. Happy rainy Tuesday to all.

Rain/Sleet/Snow/ No Goat!

Well, we're back. Actually, we have been home since about one in the morning on Sunday. After two days waking up to 3 + in. of snow which then melted into a clay, mucky, muddy mess (It also rained most of the time it was not snowing.) We decided that sticking around to see if the forecast of 9 inches of snow was right was not worth the risk of getting snowed in without enough diapers for Little Bear. Yep, that's right we took "B" along on our hunting trip and let me tell you, I am so proud of him! He is an awesome camper and he is definitely going to make his Daddy proud someday when he is old enough to actually participate and not just come along for the ride.

As for the antelope, the numbers seemed to be down quite abit from previous years. Because I stayed back at the campsite the first day with "B" all I saw was a huge flock of cranes. On the second day, the only goats I saw were through a set of binoculars about a 4 mile hike away. Now on a nice fall day, I would have been up for that in a heartbeat, but this was a hike through a couple of inches of mud on a 30 degree day in the rain/sleet. So I passed on this hoping to go after the next group of antelope. Unfortunately that next group never came.

Big bird did get a doe aswell as another of our hunting partners and one lucky hunter even got his buck. As for the other 5 of us, we will have to wait until next year.

A Hunting We Will Go...

Well we're off. We will be leaving tonight for antelope camp. I am very excited, as this is my favorite time of year. I keep saying I do not care if I get my goat, I am just along for the ride and the camping experience, but the truth is I really would like to come home with a great story for you all of how I got my antelope. I just hope that my story doesn't involve walking through a foot of snow. Check out the forecast for our trip. Well I better go pack my snowboots! I can't wait to tell you all about our trip when we get back.

Why I like Sweet "T" better than Sweet tea

Last weekend "B" and I made a trip to my sister's to meet my new niece. We will just call her "T" and she is really sweet . We had a fun weekend with a parade and everything! So in honor of the newest member of our family, I wanted to share with you all the things I like about T (my niece not the drink).

This is why I like sweet T better than sweet tea -

Sweet tea - just a drink vs. Sweet T-my awesome niece

Sweet tea - only good to the last drop vs. Sweet T - will keep you smiling all day

Sweet tea - it just sits in a glass vs. Sweet T - She has the best dance moves

Sweet tea - added sweetener vs. Sweet T - This brown sugar is all natural

Sweet tea - I don't even like tea! vs. Sweet T - I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!

Please Pray

I found out yesterday about a man in a neighboring town that past away. Though I did not know this man very well, he will always have a special place in my heart. You see a few days before "B" had his heart surgery this man took the time to share the story of his own daughter who was born with a congential heart defect with us. His daughter only lived for a few months because at that time the medical technology was not enough to save her. The amazing part is instead of asking himself "why me?" or "if only she had been born now-a-days" this man chose to live with the hope that his daughter's short life was able to teach the doctors enough to be able to save another child's life, maybe even lots of childrens lives. I don't know what the doctors learned from that little girl, but I know what I learned from that man. I learned to look at the positive in even a terrible situation and that God can bring something good out of even the most hopeless story. So to finish this story, I would ask you to pray for the family of this man as they now have to plan a funeral the same week that one of his son's is getting married.
