My Rock

I don't know what it is about my little boy and rocks. He will not leave them alone. Every time we go outside, he loves to walk to our driveway and pick up rocks, carry them around, but most of all he LOVES to put them in his mouth. (No, Mom I do not let him keep them in his mouth!) Thinking about "B" and his love of rocks put another picture in my mind.

It is the rock that I lean on, my savior, Jesus. I had a long day today, sitting at school from 8:00 this morning until 9:30 tonight, but thinking about my rock to lean on, my refuge, gave me the energy to make it through the day.

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety." Psalm 18:2

I pray that anytime you are having a rough day you will remember "my rock" and let God hold you and give you a resting place.

A Lesson in Cleaning from a One Year Old

Anyone who knows me, knows that I tend to be a little on the messy side at times. Infact the word "Messy" has preceded my first name for the majority of my life. However, "B" was trying to help me with that last night.

We had just gotten home and I was trying to make supper. "B" spotted a pair of my flip flops on the dining room floor and persistantly began repeating, "Shoe, Shoe, Shoe." "Yes, "B" those are Mommy's shoes." I replied. Then he continued, "Shoe, Shoe, Shoe" as he picked them up and began dancing around the kitchen. So I replied, "Go put them in Mommy's room." He quickly brought me one of the shoes and I said "ok, lets put them away together."

In a hurry to get back to my supper, I walked down the hall threw my flip flop in the door of my room and asked "B"to do the same. He replied, "NO!" Then, he walked into my room, pushed with all his might to open the closet door and put my flip flop "where it belongs" on my shoe rack. Then turned to me with a very proud grin!

I guess maybe I need to take a lesson in cleaning from him!

Well to start I would like to give you a little update on our family. For those of you who are not familiar with our story, our son, "Little Bear" had open heart surgery at the age of six months (for the complete story view the "LilHunter" carepage here) since then he has been doing great. I could go on and on but I think it is easier to show you than to tell you so here goes... Little Bear loves to eat and is growing like a weed!
This is "B" spotting the cows from our front step!
He really loves cows. And the following picture is showing what happens when he doesn't get his way:)
I like to call this picture "pure determination."
